What is RSS? RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and is a way to keep up with updates to VisitAsiaTravel. To put it simple: It lets you know if our website received any update without actually visiting our site. It is a new technology, used by many websites and Blogs that have news content and update frequently. How does RSS work? RSS is based on XML which is the language of the future when it comes to exchanging data between computers. A RSS file is called a "RSS feed". If you click one of our feed links in your browser you will only see the raw code. In order to view them properly formatted and with pictures you need to use a "RSS Aggregator". This is software that takes the RSS feed and converts it into readable news. What do I need to read RSS news? There are many free RSS readers available that do an excellent job in this. Some of the best are the following ones:
Firefox The Firefox browser has an integrated RSS reader. In Firefox terminology it is called "Live bookmarks". There are 2 different ways to add RSS feeds to Firefox. The easiest way to add a RSS feed to Firefox is to look in the URL field of your browser (The entry field where you type URLs) and look for a small orange square sign. If you can see one, this means that the site you are currently viewing has a RSS feed to offer. Click it and you will be asked to type a name for the feed. After that it will appear in your bookmarks folder. Remember, this new folder will update itself automatically every time the website or blog is updated. Now you are able to check back this folder for news without actually visiting the website every day.
Another way to add a feed with Firefox is to open the bookmark manager manually and then click on "New Live Bookmark" in the File menu. Then you just copy and paste the URL from the RSS feed into the Firefox and you are ready to go.
Newsgator One of the most popular RSS readers available is Newsgator. It is web based which means that you will not need to download any software but instead that you just need a browser. Go to the Newsgator homepage, sign up for an account and then you are ready to go. Just copy the feed URL from our website, click on Add Feeds button on the top left in your Newsgator account and then paste the feed URL into Newsgator. The RSS feed will now appear in the folder you specified.
Bloglines Bloglines is one of the biggest web based news aggregators and combines RSS feed reading capability with blog features and more. It is also free. Just open an account and start adding your desired feeds. Again, all you have to do is copy the RSS feed URL from our website and paste it into Bloglines (after clicking on the "Add" button on the top left).
RSS Reader Software There are also some free software packages available if you prefer to download and install a RSS reader on your computer. Two excellent free software packages are Feedreader and RSSreader. Installation and usage is self explanatory and works the same way as web based offerings like Newsgator: Copy our feed URL, click on "add feed" in the software and paste the URL there. From then on you will stay updated with the latest news from our website Available VisitAsiaTravel RSS Feeds To subscribe to our RSS Feeds right-click the links below and then paste the URL into your RSS Reader of choice: World Hotel Reviews RSS Feed Travel Guide RSS Feed
